Today, the Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, released their 2004-05 regular season schedule. Among the important dates, the Manitoba Moose are set to play their first-ever game at MTS Centre on November 17 against the St. John's Maple Leafs.

For only the second time in their four-year AHL history, the Moose will open the regular season on the road as they make their first-ever trip to Wilkes-Barre to face the Penguins on Wednesday, October 13th. Their home-opener on Friday, October 22nd is one of only four games remaining at the Winnipeg Arena as the Moose host the newly transplanted Edmonton Roadrunners. The final pro game ever played at the Winnipeg Arena will take place Saturday, November 6th when Manitoba skates against the Utah Grizzlies. The team will then make the move to the brand-new MTS Centre on Wednesday, November 17th against the St. John’s Maple Leafs with the final regular season game to take place at the MTS Centre on Saturday, April 6th, 2005 versus the Cleveland Barons.

The Moose home schedule will see the team play 31 of 40 home games on “weekend” days -- Thursday (four dates), Friday (seven dates), Saturday (14 dates) or Sunday (six dates).
The longest homestand of the season will last eight games beginning with the first-ever game played at the MTS Centre on Wednesday, November 17th, 2004 and ending Sunday, December 5th, 2004 against the Binghamton Senators. Manitoba’s longest road trip is six games beginning Wednesday, March 9th, 2005 in Grand Rapids and ending Thursday, March 17th, 2005 in Milwaukee. The Moose will also play “three-games-in-three-nights” four different times while on the road this year.
The Moose will once again host the annual New Year’s Eve game against the Chicago Wolves at a special 4:00 p.m. start on Friday, December 31st. This year, the Moose and Wolves will also play on New Year’s Day, January 1st, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. This season, the Moose will play the defending Calder Cup Champion Milwaukee Admirals four times, as well as the Calder Cup finalists, the Wilkes-Barre Penguins, four times.
