2010 Superstar Summer Showdown -- NHL's Biggest Stars Battle for Cancer Patient Care The Believe in the Goal Foundation Inc. is pleased to announce the 5th annual SuperStar Summer Showdown will be held THURSDAY AUGUST 12, 2010 at MTS Centre. The 2009 Summer Showdown was an amazing success and nearly 5000 tickets were sold. The Foundation has set the bar even higher for 2010 and hopes Manitobans “support the goal to SELL OUT THE BOWL and join 8,000 plus fans in celebrating the cause”. Many of Todd’s talented hockey friends including Jonathan Toews (Stanley Cup Champion, Conn Smythe Recipient and Olympic Gold Medalist), Travis Zajac, Nigel Dawes, Jordin Tootoo, Cam Barker and Colton Orr will once again lace up in support of Todd’s courageous fight against cancer. The Believe in the Goal Foundation Inc. was established by Todd Davison in 2006. While fighting his own personal battle with a rare form of cancer, Todd started Believe to raise funds to help young local cancer victims. The inaugural SuperStar Summer Showdown game featuring many of Todd’s hockey community teammates was played in August 2006. As a result of the players’ charity and participation in the annual game, Invitational Golf Tournament and supporting Foundation events, Believe has raised nearly $250,000 to date. The Foundation’s mission is to make a tangible difference in the lives of young kids and adolescents battling through the various stages of cancer via “Comfort and Care” initiatives, events and programs.
