North America’s premiere destination rock festival makes its return to Winnipeg on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Canad Inns Stadium. The 2010 line-up for the nationally renowned festival, centrally located in the heart of Canada, will be highlighted by performances from some of rock’s biggest artists including Stone Temple Pilots, Godsmack, Three Days Grace, Buckcherry, and recently added, Airbourne.
Presented by Right Arm Entertainment, True North Sports & Entertainment and the Winnipeg Football Club, the one-day, two stage music and lifestyle event will once again feature an even more potent line-up of more than a dozen bands. This year’s well-rounded mix of rock’s top artists also includes FINGER 11, Crash Karma, The Trews, A Day To Remember, Rev Theory, Danko Jones, and Domenica.
Stone Temple Pilots will headline the August 7th all-day event. A dominant force in rock music since their inception, the group's impressively extensive and top-selling music has cemented their standing as one of the most successful rock groups of all time. The nine-year wait for the new Stone Temple Pilots music has ended, as their new album is being released May 25th. Friday’s press conference was the Radio Broadcast World Premiere of STP’s newest single, Between The Lines.
Rock on the Range Canada is also excited to announce that it has signed a new multi-year agreement with MTS, to become the new title sponsor of the event until 2012. The event will now be referred to as “MTS Rock on the Range” as part of the new agreement.
"We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Rock on the Range music festival. MTS Rock on the Range is a unique, energetic part of both our community and our summer. MTS is proud to bring such an exciting event to the province of Manitoba," said Stan Kurtas, Vice-President of Marketing, MTS Allstream.
In addition, Monster Energy Drink and Jagermeister will be branded partners on the MTS ROTR Canada stages.
“We are truly excited about the return of the Rock on the Range Festival to Winnipeg and the addition of MTS as our title sponsor,” said Kevin Donnelly, Vice-President & General Manager, MTS Centre. “With the bands we have lined-up this year, we are certain Winnipeg music fans will be able to come out and get a charge out of the whole day at Canad Inns Stadium.”
“We are eager to be the host venue for the second Rock on the Range Festival”, said Jim Bell, President, Winnipeg Football Club. “To be able to partner with True North to bring such a large event to the city, and our stadium, is something we are very proud to be a part of.”
"We pledged to have MTS Rock On The Range return to Winnipeg for 2010. Rain, sleet, wind... nothing was gonna keep us away,” said Gary Spivack, Co-President, Right Arm Entertainment. “We can't wait to see bands such as Stone Temple Pilots, Godsmack, Three Days Grace, Buckcherry and more take over the MTS ROTR Canada stage. Saturday August 7th will be a day filled with sunshine, amazing energy and incredible rock that no music fan in the entire Manitoba Province and beyond will want to miss!"
