The first wave of seats has now been installed in the upper bowl of the MTS Centre. The seats started to arrive at the site by truck just over a week ago and to date more than 2,000 chairs have been assembled and bolted into place in the upper bowl.
There will be three distinct types of seats in the facility - club seats, private suite chairs and the seats in the upper and lower bowls of the arena. Every one of the 15,015 seats in the upper and lower bowls will feature fully cushioned backs and seat cushions in the same deep green upholstery and are sure to give patrons lots to cheer about. The club seat sections and the private suites offer full VIP comfort - wider seats, higher backs and more plush cushioning.
The seats, manufactured and installed by the Irwin Seating Company, will be bolted into place at the rate of about 2,000 a week over the next seven or eight weeks. Already the arena bowl is taking on a more finished look as the massive job of installing the seats proceeds. Each seat is fully covered with a clear plastic bag once it is installed to protect the new upholstery with so much construction work still taking place around the arena bowl.

Following installation, each seat is fully covered with a plastic bag to protect the new upholstery through the final months of construction activity.

The event floor stands ready for installation of the piping for the ice making system.

Timothy Eaton has been placed onto the marble base in the Atrium on Portage Ave where he sternly awaits the completion of construction.

Demolition of the old cement floors is underway in the Powerhouse at the corner of Hargrave and Graham. A sports bar and grill and a third floor housing the True North and Manitoba Moose staff will be under construction soon.
