Mon. July 28 (7:30pm) - Modest Mouse

Modest Mouse was formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington and over the last decade has become the indie rock standard, and one of the few bands capable of treading the narrow path where massive popularity is possible without sacrificing their longtime fans.

The band released their first full-length album, This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About, on the Up label in 1996. With the release of their second album, The Lonesome Crowded West in 1997, the band's status reached new heights with a legion of fans and critical acclaim. In 2000, Modest Mouse was signed to Epic Records and released their third album, The Moon & Antarctica. In 2004 came the release of their breakthrough album, Good News For People Who Love Bad News, which included the hit "Float On" and has sold over 1.5 million copies and earned the band two Grammy nominations.

Modest Mouse released We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, on March 20, 2007 and immediately entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #1.  Most recently the band released the EP No One's First, And You're Next and also reissued Moon & Antartica on vinyl.

Wed. August 6 (8:00pm) - Serena Ryder

Serena Ryder continues to break new ground on all musical fronts with her 2012 release, Harmony achieving Gold-selling status in just a few short months and then sky-rocketing to her first platinum album certification shortly after. The trailblazing, infectious lead single, “Stompa” is currently triple platinum and the equally anthemic follow-up track, “What I Wouldn’t Do” raced to the top of the radio airwaves top 10 lists across all formats and double platinum. Testament to the depth of Harmony, the album’s third single, “Fall” is currently a mainstay at radio.

Ryder is quickly becoming a radio sensation south of the border too, with massive radio airplay and topping the U.S. Triple A charts.

On the 2013 music awards front, Ryder has had a banner year with two knock-out live performances at The Juno Awards in Regina (solo ”Stompa” & a killer Billy Talent collaboration) and took home her fourth Juno for Adult Alternative Album of The Year. At The 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards, Serena earned herself three nominations and added more hardware to her trophy collection, winning Rock / Alternative Video of The Year and then went on to perform a stellar live medley of her two hits, “What I Wouldn’t Do” & “Stompa”.

Produced by Emmy/Grammy nominated producer / songwriter / musician Jerrod Bettis (Gavin Degraw, Better Than Ezra) and producer / songwriter / musician Jon Levine (K’naan, Nelly Furtado), Harmony is poised to continue to break new ground for Ryder through 2013 and beyond.

Ryder is adored by fans, peers and critics alike due mainly in part to her immense natural songwriting talent and beautifully electric live performances. Over the years, she has garnered many other accolades including three prestigious Juno Awards that include: 2008 New Artist of The Year, 2009 Adult Alternative Album of The Year (Is It O.K.) and 2010 Video of The Year (Little Bit of Red).

Sat. September 20 (4:00pm) - Imagination Movers

The Imagination Movers story is the ultimate example of the power of imagination. In 2003, four New Orleans friends – Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche and Scott “Smitty” Smith – had an idea. They thought kids wanted and deserved music that spoke to them, not down to them. So, they started gathering after their kids’ bedtimes to write songs and brainstorm ideas about a children’s television show. Two years later, they had become the latest sensation of their musical city, attracting parents and children alike with an eclectic pop sensibility and lyrical turns about healthy snacks and playing catch and conquering childhood fears of bedtime.  The Movers partnered with Disney in 2007 and filmed 75 episodes of the Emmy Award-winning series over three seasons. The show airs in more than 55 countries and they’ve sold half a million CDs and DVDs to date. Critical acclaim includes nods from Entertainment Weekly and The New York Times, which reported the Movers are “prized by many parents for non-condescending lyrics and music that evokes the Beastie Boys or Red Hot Chili Peppers.” Parenting magazine praised the band’s “dash of rebellion” and songs that are “fresh and treaclefree.”

National television appearances include The View, Live with Regis & Kelly, and Good Morning America. In 2009, the Imagination Movers won a Daytime Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for outstanding original song in the children's show/animation category. Imagination Movers debuted on the Disney Channel in September 2008 and, in addition to the critical success, was also a ratings hit with fans worldwide. In the U.S., the series ranked among TV’s top five programs with preschoolers ages 2-5. Globally, Imagination Movers was the most-viewed original Playhouse Disney series launch ever among kids and total viewers in Australia, and ranked as the No. 1 series on Playhouse Disney in the UK, Denmark and Sweden, while ranking as a top-five series in Italy and India. To date, Imagination Movers has reached nearly 100 million homes worldwide.

The series is currently aired around the world on the Disney Channel and on the new 24- hour Disney Junior Channel in the U.S. The Movers’ TV episodes, songs and videos are also widely available online through iTunes, Youtube, the Disney Junior website and many other digital media outlets. The Movers’ season three soundtrack, “Back In Blue,” was released July 30, 2013 and debuted as the No. 1 Children’s Album on iTunes in Canada, No. 2 on iTunes in the U.S. and No. 2 on Amazon.com.

Sat. September 27 (8:00pm) - Art Garfunkel

ART GARFUNKEL is back in love with being on stage, and is adding more dates to an already busy summer. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member is scheduled to perform at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 20, 2014. The revered singer had taken time off to recover from a vocal ailment before returning to the stage this year.

“I feel like 26,” Garfunkel recently told the New Haven Register before a few Connecticut shows.  “I worked to get the voice back…I have been singing since I was five; it’s my best friend. I’m married to singing and its problems.” He adds, "The voice left me and now that it's back, I am so grateful."

Garfunkel will bring his two-man show, with guitarist Tab Laven. His live set encompasses his solo hits, Simon and Garfunkel songs, cuts from his favorite songwriters--Jimmy Webb, Randy Newman, A.C. Jobim--parts of his new book, and Q&A.

Blessed with what the New York Times described as a “beautiful countertenor,” singer ART GARFUNKEL has made an indelible mark on the music world as both a solo artist and half of the unrivaled Simon & Garfunkel.  He has also enjoyed a successful film career, published a book of poetry and released 12 original solo albums, the most recent being SOME ENCHANTED EVENING in 2007, plus a 2-CD compendium of his full body of work THE SINGER. Since then, he has been busy as a husband and father to his two sons, 23 year-old Arthur Junior and eight-year-old Beau Daniel.  He is also an avid walker who has walked across Japan, the US (celebrated in the 1997 concert DVD ACROSS AMERICA) and now Europe, bearing down on Istanbul.

Fri. October 3 (8:00pm) - Ziggy Marley

A six-time Grammy winner, Emmy Winner, humanitarian, singer, songwriter and producer, Ziggy Marley has released twelve albums to much critical acclaim. His early immersion in music came at age ten when he sat in on recording sessions with his father, Bob Marley.

As front man to Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers, the group released eight best-selling albums that garnered three Grammys, with such chart-topping hits as Look Who’s Dancing, Tomorrow People and Tumbling Down. Ziggy’s first solo album, Dragonfly (RCA Records), was released in 2003. His second solo release, Love is My Religion (Tuff Gong Worldwide), won a Grammy in 2006 for Best Reggae Album. His third solo album, Family Time (Tuff Gong Worldwide), scored him a 5th Grammy award for Best Children’s Album.

Ziggy’s latest album, the recently-released Fly Rasta, fulfills Ziggy’s mission by marrying his own distinctive reggae sound with elements of psychedelica, rock, funk, soul and pop, exploring further musical zones with the addition of sitar, tabla and taiko drums.  “I’m looking to push the envelope, to challenge myself,” Ziggy explains.  “ I have always wanted to travel far beyond the realms of expectations.”

Equally ambitious in its lyrical themes taken from Ziggy’s own life experiences and emotions Fly Rasta is a call to empowerment, enlightenment, freedom and, as with many of Ziggy’s songs, the higher power of love.  It’s also a call to action for the planet Earth.  A packet of wildflowers is included in every CD, encouraging fans to connect with nature and grow something beautiful.  Ziggy is also partnering with several environmental organizations, including COTAP (Carbon Offsets To Alleviate Poverty), which will assist in offsetting the “carbon footprint” of his upcoming world tour.

To coincide with the release of Fly Rasta, Ziggy has put out his debut children’s book I Love You Too, a coproduction of Akashic Books and Tuff Gong Worldwide. The multicultural picture book is based on one of Ziggy’s most beloved songs of the same title from his Grammy Award-winning album Family Time, which explores a child’s relationship with parents, nature and the unstoppable force of love.

Tickets for the Winnipeg date available online at www.ticketmaster.ca,
by phone at 1-855-985-5000, or in person at all Ticketmaster outlets starting at $39.50 (plus fees).

Sat. October 4 (8:00pm) - Big Wreck

“The end result is an album that benefits from lyrics that are at times both sorrowful and spiritual, music that is powerfully uplifting, and a band that sounds refreshed and rejuvenated.” NMC.ca

“There are no shortage of guitar champions out there, but Thornley and his crew bring a renewed spirit and drive to guitar-based rock music in a band setting that might only be rivaled today by Dave Grohl & Co.  Big Wreck’s music is smart without being smart-assed… pomp without being pompous.” Gearphoria.com

Winnipeg, MB – June 17, 2014 – Fresh off the heels from the release of their new album Ghosts (released June 10th w/ Anthem/Warner), Big Wreck is excited to announce a 2014 Canadian fall tour. The dates will kick off in Edmonton on September 19th at Encore and wrap up in Toronto for two nights at The Danforth Music Hall on October 16th and 17th.  Full tour details can be found below and tickets are on sale now at: www.bigwreckmusic.com. Ghosts, the band’s fourth studio album hit #1 on the iTunes Rock Charts the day of release and the first single/title track is currently Top 10 at Active Rock and Mainstream Rock in Canada. Check out the killer video for Ghosts! The album is available now in Canada and fans have a chance to order from an exclusive list of items through their PledgeMusic campaign here.

Big Wreck headed into Revolution Studios and Vespa Studios in Toronto to record the 13 new songs that make up Ghosts. The band approached the making of this album with a renewed sense of wonder toward the very things that turned them on to rock and roll in the first place. While the album stays true to the driving intensity, booming drum sound and unbridled guitar virtuosity that has always made Big Wreck so appealing, it also explores bold new aural territory which sees the band letting their guard down for the first time to return to the seeds of long forgotten ideas.

Get ready to turn up the amps as Big Wreck take their electrifying new album on tour this Fall!
